Empowering Voices Through Artistry

A Brooklyn native, Kiena Williams is a passionate and dedicated vocalist, choral conductor, clinician, and educator. She is deeply committed to fostering artistic growth and empowering students through functional voice training and the co-creation of culturally competent and safe learning environments. Kiena currently serves as a Training Division Conductor at the Grammy Award-winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus and as adjunct Vocal Faculty at The Calhoun School, alongside her work as a freelance conductor and teaching artist throughout New York City.

With over ten years of experience in diverse learning communities across the country, Kiena has honed a teaching philosophy centered on exploration, creativity, and holistic development. She believes in strengthening the voices of young singers by equipping them with technical skills and expressive tools that transcend the music studio and build confidence for life. Her approach encourages students to explore their unique instruments, discover their artistic potential, and engage with music in ways that are both joyful and meaningful. In roles ranging from Vocal Director and theater director to Public School and Outreach Manager, Kiena has consistently worked to make high-quality music education accessible and inspiring.

As a multi-hyphenate artist actively performing as a soloist, chorister, and recording artist in various styles, Kiena brings a wealth of real-world musicianship, vocal pedagogy, and performance experience into her teaching. She understands the demands and joys of a life in music and strives to share that insight with her students, nurturing their talents while fostering a resilient and curious mindset.

Kiena is an alumna of the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and The Pennsylvania State University (Bachelor of Arts in Music). She is immensely proud of the mentorship and teaching opportunities she continues to cultivate in her beloved New York City, believing firmly that when young people are empowered through music and the use of their bodies as instruments, they are inspired to show up fully and confidently in the world.
